LM TILE - Installation

ROOF CONCEPT

To avoid condensation and heat accumulation under the roof, it must be made sure during construction that the roof is well insulated and airtight, or is properly ventilated depending on the type of roof.

The air inlets at the eaves must be the same size as the ventilation outlets at the ridge.

For residential dwellings, the roof must be installed by professionals.

SIZES AND ORDER

As a rule, the length of LM roofing tiles is identical to the length of the rafter (the roofing tile is placed in such a way as to overhang the rafter by 20-30 mm at the eaves).

In case the length of the roof is > 8 m, the roofing tiles are supplied in 2 parts. You then need to add a 170 mm overlap to the normal length of the tiles.

Overall given length; divided by LM.

CORNER ROOFS

To calculate the number of tiles needed for a corner roof, make a scale drawing of the surfaces of the roof, as illustrated below, keeping in mind that the axis of the tiles must always be vertical to the lower end of the roof.

Caution: place tiles from right to left !

When using tiles of different lengths, the transverse axis of the tiles must be adjusted along the edge of the largest surface of the roof.

CANOPIES

The length of the canopy must be a multiple of 350mm. If this is not possible, the tile must be cut correctly to size at the eaves.
Please measure individually for canopies before ordering.

FITTING

As a rule, LM roofing tiles are supplied cut to size. In case of corner roofs or for any other cuts, the roofing tiles must be cut on the side with normal shears, a trimmer of a fine-toothed metal saw.
Caution: never cut the tiles with a grinder. It can burn the coating and galvanisation on the edge of the tile and thus cause corrosion.

PLACING THE TILES

CAUTION:
The distance between the cross laths (tile laths) must be 350 mm. The distance between the first two laths is measured from the lower edge of the first lath to the upper edge of the second lath.

Installation of the profiles is very fast and easy, since a single tile can be produced up to 8 metres long and 1.08 m width.

CLEANING

Metal dust and chips from cutting and drilling must be brushed off, since they will rust and can thus damage the surface.

Normal soiling resulting from the work can be removed with normal cleaners; do not use powerful solvents which could damage the synthetic coating.

FASTENING

The tiles are fixed at the lowest point of the trough below the transverse axis.
The screws (self-tapping) are introduced at right angles to the roofing tile.
Approx. 5 screws are needed each square metre..
